The 1st Annual ASEAN Conference on Climate Change (ACCC)

The 1st Annual ASEAN Conference on Climate Change examined sustainable development of the Mekong Subregion under international law, with a particular focus on climate change, transboundary water resources, livelihoods and regional cooperation.

The conference was held on 7 June 2024 at Hall A1002, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, in hybrid format (in-person and Zoom). Opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Lê Trường Sơn, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, with a congratulatory speech by Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Huyên, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Justice.

Three sessions addressed: (1) Mekong and the Sustainable Development Goals in the subregion; (2) water resources exploitation of the Mekong River; and (3) international trade, investment and human rights activities that promote SDGs in the Mekong Subregion.
