Ho Chi Minh City University of Law is the leading legal training institution in the Southern region, achieving high quality in teaching and research to contribute to community building, national development, and international integration and cooperation with countries worldwide and within the region. Following the success of these activities, the NAFOSTED State-level research project titled: “Artificial Intelligence – Vietnam's Legal Framework on the Path of Integration,” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Viet Dung, has been launched.
Currently, Vietnam has become the first country in Southeast Asia to enact an AI Law, with the expectation of creating a comprehensive legal framework to manage and develop AI safely and effectively. This is particularly significant in the context of Vietnam's newly established International Financial Centers, which are expected to attract FinTech capital flows from around the world, of which AI is an inseparable component.
However, this also raises requirements and questions regarding:
-
(i) The interpretation and application of this legal framework, and the impact of Vietnam's AI law on its business, commercial, and social activities;
-
(ii) The interaction of these regulations with Vietnam's existing legal framework; and
-
(iii) The compatibility of this document with the international commitments to which Vietnam is a party.
With the desire to find answers to the above questions and to create a discussion forum for scientists, technology professionals, and anyone interested in the intersection of AI and law, the Conference is organized under the theme: “Artificial Intelligence – Vietnam's Legal Framework on the Path of Integration and Harmonization of Risk Management Models.”
